North Sea Dashboard
In the winter semester 2023/2024, Master’s students of the international iMARSYS programme created an interactive North Sea dashboard as part of the iMARSYS3 – Data Handling & Visualization module. The project was a collaborative effort in their first semester, demonstrating how publicly available databases can be used and visually presented for marine research.
Data sources
The students exclusively used publicly available datasets:
- ICES — Data portals of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea
- NOAA World Ocean Atlas (WOA18) — Oceanographic data
- OSPAR Assessment Portal — Environmental assessment data (incl. impulsive sound distribution)
- OBIS — Ocean Biodiversity Information System
